ARBORIST – CITY OF RICHLAND, WA
salary range: $20.93 - $22.41 hourly;
open until October 19, 2007.

BRIEF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, performs all phases of tree care on City owned property to include pruning, disease/pest diagnosis and management, planting, removal, recommendations for fertilizing, application of pesticides and irrigation needs of trees; performs other duties related to park and facility maintenance as assigned. Availability to work after hours and weekends as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; ISA Arborist Certification upon hire date; valid Washington State driver's license upon hire date and a Class A CDL within six (6) months of hire date.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to perform technical work following ANSI standards and current arborist standards; ability to read landscape blueprints to determine proper spacing of trees shrubs and planting procedures; ability to utilize field testing equipment for the purpose of identifying tree density, height of tree and other information that would aid the assessment of overall tree health; ability to demonstrate computer skills that would allow for the usage of a tree inventory and identification program.
