Landscape Construction/Gardening - $14-16/hr

Sage and Stone is offering a full-time position in landscape construction and gardening. Currently, we are a two man design and build company focusing on native and edible plantings alongside high quality hardscapes. We are a young and growing company, and so while this position will be physically demanding, there is a good opportunity for advancement and merit raises.

Qualifications: Prior work experience is preferred, as well as a person who is interested in sustainability, stonework, woodwork, and horticulture. Must be able to talk to clients and represent the company. We require a valid driver's license, good driving record and reliable transportation to job sites. Must be able to lift at least 80 lbs. Strong work ethic mandatory.

Habitat Restoration Technician (Snoqualmie Valley) - $DOE

*** PREFERENCE FOR THIS JOB WILL BE GIVEN TO SNOQUALMIE VALLEY AND NEARBY (EASTSIDE) RESIDENTS ***

This job is a full-time contract position with Stewardship Partners; a Seattle based non-profit conservation organization with a targeted program conducting restoration projects with agricultural landowners in the Snoqualmie Valley.

As part of a restoration work crew, the Restoration Technician (crew member), will assist in implementing habitat restoration projects which may include riparian planting, wetland enhancement, erosion control, livestock fencing, and in-stream enhancement through woody debris placement.

Specific tasks will include the following:
• Invasive species removal of Himalayan blackberry, reed canary grass, Japanese knotweed and other invasives.
• Plant salvage of native species such as alders, dogwoods, and willows.
• Site prep including layout of landscape fabric, site cleanup.
• Planting native vegetation along riparian areas
• Staking river banks with dogwood and willow stakes
• Weeding around established planting areas.

Qualifications:
• Self-starter, ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
• Ability to conduct manual labor and work in inclement weather.
• Some knowledge of local ecology and native plants helpful (but not required).
• Must have personal vehicle.
• Snoqualmie Valley residents preferred.

Restoration Ecology Field Positions - $12.50-14.50/hr

Restoration Logistics, a small, Seattle-based ecological restoration consulting and contracting firm, is looking to fill several Ecological Restoration Crew Leader and Crew Member positions ASAP. These are field positions and require restoration experience as well as strenuous manual labor and operation of tools and equipment.

Minimum requirements:
-Two years of relevant experience in ecological restoration or related fields (forestry, landscaping, nursery, trailwork, etc.).
-Solid knowledge of plants native to western Washington.
-Ability to conduct sustained, self-directed work with minimal supervision.
-Valid, insurable WA driver’s license and record. -Access to a reliable vehicle for daily use.

Preferred Requirements:
-BS degree in natural resource sciences (forestry, wildlife, botany, or related discipline)

Compensation:
-$12.50-$14.50 /hour to start.
-Paid holidays.
-Health benefits, sick time and paid vacation available after probationary periods
