I. Summary:
The Wholesale Cashiers at Molbak’s Plant Farm is responsible for providing the friendliest and most efficient service possible to customers during both check-in and check-out. Our Wholesale Cashier is not only highly knowledgeable about wholesale operations, but also familiar with the plants and products offered at the Farm, our daily and seasonal specials, as well as the needs of our wholesale customers. Cashiers are key customer service providers whose interaction with each person who shops at Molbak’s Plant Farm results in that customer’s complete satisfaction.

II. Essential Functions & Primary Areas of Responsibility:

· Conduct every transaction with each customer in a friendly, efficient and accurate manner

· Provide accurate information regarding prices, specials, discounts and other selling information

· Secure tills at the beginning and end of each shift

· Maintain an attractive and safe sales and checkout area.

· Assist with stocking and merchandising, including any display set-up and maintenance

· Other duties as assigned


III. Minimum Qualifications:

1. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

· One year recent, successful working experience in private enterprise or public sector OR successful completion of two years of related technical/trade school.
· Must possess current Washington State driver’s license, vehicle insurance and safe driving record.

· Ability to communicate in English.

Maintenance Manager - $40-45k/yr

We are currently looking to fill this position for one of our largest clients. This is a 120-acre mixed-income residential community of approximately 1600 homes located in the Longfellow Creek watershed in West Seattle. This communities focus is on sustainability that incorporates a healthy environment (including Built Green and Energy Star standards) and an engaged, diverse community. An innovative natural drainage system manages stormwater on site and protects water quality. Landscaping will be maintained in the greenest way possible.

Acting under the direction of the Community Association Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for a variety of ground maintenance activities including tree, turf, shrub bed care, irrigation and repairs. Maintenance Manager required the ability to prioritize work, record project completion and hours worked on project and report same to the Community Association
Manager.

Requirements/Duties:
• Maintenance Manager shall be experienced in landscape maintenance and shall have adequate knowledge of ornamental horticulture and integrated pest management (IPM) practices.
• Ensure adherence to Natural Lawn Care standards, IPM solutions and ‘Calendar of Recommended Lawn Maintenance Practices for the Puget Sound Region’ to the level of ‘Extra practices for Higher Maintenance Lawns”, as outlined in Ecologically Sound Lawn Care for the Pacific Northwest, 1999, by Seattle Public Utilities.

Position Duties
This is a temporary, full-time position. Contact citizens and community groups for the purpose of responding to inquiries and resolving complaints. Participate in and oversee sidewalk restoration projects that have tree root conflicts, which may include root pruning, operation of air tools and coordination with Seattle Department of Transportation office and field staff representing other divisions and outside departments. Required Qualifications
Three years of experience in the care, planting, and maintenance of trees and plant materials, and the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Natural Resources, Botany, or related field, and demonstrated experience in supervision or lead work. Required to work in all weather conditions and stand, bend and walk for extended periods. Occasional exposure to toxic chemicals and pesticides is required. WA State driver’s license. Required experience and skills: 10 years experience in horticulture and/or landscape design, 3-5 years working in a private home and/or recreational/hotel, knowledge of plants-specifically NW native plants, understanding of health and safety issues as it relates to the position and the grounds. Must be computer savvy. Must have the ability to create and present reports to senior management as well as use project management tools to manage project lifecycles. Must have strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

Position Summary
The internship with the Bellevue Botanical Garden is a temporary position and is offered as an educational opportunity to students in the fields of botany, horticulture or related fields. Interns work 20 hours per week. The intern works Saturday and Sunday 8-4:30 and all holidays. There is a ½ day during the week to be set by mutual consent of the Garden Manager, Garden Supervisor and Intern. One half of the intern’s time will be spent gaining horticultural knowledge working under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor. The other half of the intern’s time will be spent working with curator and administrative elements of a botanical garden under the supervision of the Garden Manager. The intern will select a project from a list. The project will be conducted throughout the course of the internship with a report expected at the end. The internship will last approximately 9 months. At the end of the internship the intern will have gained knowledge about the operation and management of a botanical garden.


Primary Responsibilities
Collections mapping identifying what plant is where in garden
Public garden grounds maintenance - weeding, pruning, raking, deadheading, backpack blowing, sweeping, planting
Plant records - record information about plants
Volunteer management - work with volunteer projects
Public relations & special events - set-up and take down, answer questions, presentations, assist wherever needed


Qualifications
Enrolled in an accredited two-or four-year college or university with a focus in horticulture, recreation, or other related field(s).
Experience in horticulture, natural history, recreation programming or a related area.
Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience using the PC, including word processing, spreadsheets.
Knowledge of ArcGIS preferred
Grounds maintenance experience preferred.
Database experience preferred.
Blood Born Pathogens and first aid certification may be required-employer will provide if needed.

Definition of a Student Intern
Must be enrolled in a bona fide education program. Full time employees taking evening classes, those enrolled in one course, or those going to school periodically are not considered student interns.
During the school year must be scheduled to work 20 hours or fewer per week.
During special situations (i.e. specific internship programs through school) or during school breaks, can be scheduled to work more than 20 hours, up to full time, if appropriate.
Must be terminated as a student intern when no longer associated with an education program.
At-will for the duration of the student intern status.
