Garden Center Retail Salesperson
Make recommendations for appropriate plants, plant combinations, and cultural requirements to suit customers’ particular gardening and landscaping needs
Diagnose plant problems including environmental, insect, pathogen, and herbivory damage and make recommendations for appropriate ecologically-friendly control practices
Guide customers through landscaping and gardening processes, including site preparation, design, installation, and maintenance
Give advice on appropriate use of tools, soil amendments, fertilizers, pesticides, and sustainable gardening and landscaping practices
Help customers locate plants and other products in the various departments within the nursery
Design and plant custom container gardens
Help customers load plants and hard goods into their vehicles or arrange for delivery
Receive, label, and stock inventory
Maintain nursery stock in retail ready condition, including organizing, watering, pruning, fertilizing, and treating for environmental, pest, and pathogen damage
Continually clean, rotate, and reorganize stock to maintain a clean, orderly, and customer-friendly shopping experience
Act as back-up cashier as required
