Position: Natural Resource Specialist 1
Location: Wenatchee, Washington
Salary: $2,799 - $3,653 monthly, effective July 1, 2007

Position Profile:
· Inspect and evaluate small and large trees to promote plant health, improve plant appearance, and protect people and property.
· Prune and/or remove small and large trees.
· Remove dead or dying branches and trees injured by disease, insect infestations, storms, and/or other adverse mechanical damage through use of an aerial lift or rope(s) and saddle with or without climbing.
· Plant and care for new trees including staking, mulching, and pruning for early structure.
· Assist the Natural Resource Specialist 3 to manage WSPRC forest health and safety through selective hazard tree identification and removal, training, tree replacement strategies, pruning, and insect and disease technical applications, fire prevention, and specific land uses as related to policies and procedures.
· Maintain all of the eastside arbor crew equipment, records, and other work as required.
· Train park staff in tasks directly related to the use of such equipment as: brush chipper, spray equipment, stump grinder, chainsaw, winch and various hand tools related to tree and plant care.
· Conduct, inspect, and inventory trees through use of a technical Hazard Tree Evaluation process.
