Position Summary:
Molbak's, the Northwest's premier Garden and Home retailer, is seeking the right individual to join our Farm Wholesale Production team as the Dock Checker at our Redmond production farm.
The purpose of the dock checker is to perform all functions associated with the shipping of merchandise to enable a rapid and efficient flow of product to the Woodinville retail store.
Requirements for this Position:
• The dock checker will need to be available Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Plant knowledge and identification; horticulture certification a plus
• Strong written and mathematical skills
• Strong attention to details
• Ability to review and compare documents regarding pricing, transfers, price changes, etc.
• The ability to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis will be required.
• The demonstrated ability to make decisions in stressful situations will be required.
• Forklift Certification within 90 days
• Must be able to use a pallet jack.
• Speed and accuracy in performing all tasks
• Ability to prioritize/execute multiple tasks during peak receiving/shipping periods.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Update shipping documents daily
• Communicate to assembly team leaders on any variances
• Communicate with inventory specialist on any plant quality issues
• Communicate to label coordinator on any label issues.
• Locate, inspect, count and check labels on plant orders
• Conduct detailed comparison (line by line) on inventory sheets
• Responsible for final inspection of each processed order, prior to shipment
Other Responsibilities:
• Maintaining a safe and clean workplace: to minimize potential accidents and injuries
• Organizing and maintaining an orderly back stock
• Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when needed during peak times.
• Recommend process improvements to streamline functions and improve efficiency
• Troubleshoot problems and communicate solutions with appropriate individuals
• Assisting with other duties as assigned.
