Landscape Supervisor - $33-45K

Chambers Bay Golf Course

Responsible for all activities related to care and maintenance of landscape plantings, trails, parks, and associated areas including the equipment and personnel. Assists the Superintendent with planning and implementing budget and operating plans. Assists the Superintendent with hiring, training, and supervision of staff. Responsibilities also include applying relevant landscaping, horticultural principles to assure that quality and safety standards are consistently achieved and/or exceeded.Assist with the development of the annual maintenance budget and operating plan. Implement the plan according to Pierce County and Kemper Sports operating policies and procedures to ensure cost containment and maintenance of a safe work environment.Plan and implement staffing schedules to ensure quality standards are achieved for optimal employee utilization.Supervise and perform various maintenance duties to maintain the areas of landscape responsibility to meet or exceed landscape maintenance standards.Supervise all planting, fertilization, and care of turf, plants, shrubs, naturalized areas and trees. Assist with development and implementation of a fertilizer, aeration, and Integrated Pest Management program for proper turf and plant care.Supervise development, operation and maintenance of drainage and irrigation to meet or exceed plant health.Supervise equipment operation, maintenance, and repairs to keep all equipment in safe and operational condition. Develop and implement a cleaning and preventative maintenance program for equipment, tools, vehicles in conjunction with the mechanic.Ensure maintenance of all quality, cleanliness, and safety standards including but not limited to employee professional appearance, uniforms, equipment repair areas, equipment storage areas, chemical and fertilizer storage areas, receiving areas, washing areas, lunch room areas, restrooms, etc.Monitor the purchase ordering and receiving program to maintain proper inventories of supplies and ensure proper quality and price for all purchases. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal, laws, OSHA rules and regulations, relating to chemical and fertilizer storage, use, and disposal, employee safety, public safety, etc. Manage employment activities for applicable staff members, including but not limited to, personnel recruitment and selection, performance evaluation, training, compensation, discipline, and termination, etc. Maintain accurate records for department activities including but not limited to labor schedules, course maintenance, construction activities, equipment repair, safety meetings and activities, fertilizer and chemical applications, pest management procedures. Assure the efficient and timely submission of all required operational, financial, budgetary, and related reports. Maintain knowledge of current and projected industry developments through continuous attention to industry periodicals, and participation in relevant trade associations and organizations. Maintain open communication with supervisors and clients.Develop and maintain a positive work relationship with Superintendent, County staff, peers, and subordinates to ensure optimum flow of information.Transport of equipment, materials, and tools to job site.Assure proper use, care, and inventory of company equipment, parts, and tools assigned by performing pre-operation checks, routine maintenance, and minor in-the field repairs of equipment as necessary.Other duties as assigned and appropriate. Must be able to take and pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Compensation: Salary range: $33,000 to $45,000 per year plus a full range of benefits including vacation and sick leave, retirement, medical, dental, and vision plans, golfing privileges for self and immediate family members, and professional development education and training.
