Gardener/Horticulturist - $16-18/hr DOE

Withey Price Landscape and Design, a high-end garden design/build/maintain firm, is seeking to fill a full time position.



  • Applicant must be willing to take and follow instruction (both written and verbal), have a strong interest in plants, enjoy working outdoors, and tolerate all weather conditions.

  • Reliable transportation is required as our job sites are widely situated throughout the Seattle area.

  • Applicant must be Honest And Reliable, have a good work ethic, be able to work well with others and carry out instructions on their own.

  • Applicant will be asked to sign confidentiality agreements if working for certain clients, and be expected to honor them, under sanction of law.

  • Applicant must have and use e-mail since instructions/daily work schedules are frequently determined or changed the prior evening and sent out before 10:00 PM.

  • Some practical horticultural knowledge and experience needed.

  • Experience with hand and power tools a plus, but not required.

  • Applicant must be able to lift and carry, sometimes up many steps, up to 60lbs., repeatedly.

  • Some mandatory overtime will occasionally be required, and compensated for.

    Duties to include the following as per instruction:
    - Plant grooming
    - Planting
    - Dividing
    - Fertilizing
    - Cleaning of outdoor areas (sweeping, raking, scrubbing, etc.)
    - Carrying/moving and spreading of mulch, soil, gravel etc.
    - Hauling debris
    - Assisting with the installation of stone and concrete paving and landscape rock
    - Assisting with metalwork/fabrication
    - Assisting with the installation of irrigation systems
    - Assisting with the construction of outdoor structures (fences, gates, decks, trellises)
    Training in correct pruning a plus.
    Pesticide applicators license a plus.
