Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service with a friendly and professional manor
Keeping nursery area clean and watered
Keeping plants in prime saleable condition
Assist with unloading of nursery freight
Price nursery merchandise
Stock all orders, and pull and tag all special orders for customer pickup
Coordinate all customer special requests for plant material with the buyer, communicating with all parties in a clear and timely manner
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong Canopy plant knowledge required.
Annual and Perennial plant knowledge helpful
Recognizes plant maintenance issues such as watering, diseases, insects and growing requirements
Able to interact with customers, answer questions regarding plant availability, listening and passing along suggestions and plant requests to buyer.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs. using correct lifting techniques
Ability to bend over and squat repeatedly during the day
Legible writing skills with attention to details

Education, Certification and Training
Previous plant sales and wholesale sales experience helpful
Horticulture training or successful completion of Plant I.D. classes preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Gardenware & General Computer Skills desired

Parks Dept. Beautification Worker - $12.35-12.97/hr

BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAM WORKER Seasonal position with no opportunity for permanent employment.
CLOSES: Open until filled. SALARY: $12.35 - $12.97/hour. No benefits.
DEPARTMENT: Parks & Recreation
JOB FUNCTION: Temporary, seasonal position to assist full time staff in the Edmonds Beautification Program duties as assigned by the Parks Manager.

REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability & interest to perform outdoor maintenance activities in all kinds of weather. Previous grounds maintenance, nursery or gardening experience desirable but not required.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Follow safety rules & procedures. • Applicant must be able to take direction, work productively & follow tasks through to completion in a timely manner. • Flower program maintenance including: planting, watering, weeding, mulching, pruning & deadheading annuals, perennials & shrubs. • Will involve care & attention to detailed work. • Work in all types of weather performing grounds keeping tasks as directed by staff. • Some early shifts involved.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Applicant must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age. • Have experience in some of the above listed job duties and physical ability to perform these duties.

REQUIRED LICENSES AND OTHER EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA: • Possess & maintain a valid Washington State driver's license. A five-year driver’s abstract is required for this position, to be submitted with the application packet. Bloedel Reserve - Visitor Attendant - $10/hr

We have a part-time position opening for a Visitor Attendant, with primary responsibilities of welcoming visitors, collecting and accounting for admission fees and memberships, providing assistance to visitors, and helping with general facility security.

Job Duties • Welcome the public to the Bloedel Reserve graciously, effectively, and efficiently • Collect admission and membership fees and manage cash register receipts and till security • Schedule and document admissions as needed • Utilize computer programs, i.e., the online visit scheduler, Google Apps (calendars, intranet, etc.) • Correspond professionally (phone, email, mail, etc.) with members, staff, and the general public • Help schedule guided and group tours • Monitor the Reserve’s security system, reporting all detected problems • Monitor cleanliness of Gate House and restrooms in the absence of janitorial staff

Wholesale Annual & Perennial Lead - $DOE

Molbak’s, the Northwest’s premier Garden and Home retailer, is seeking the right individual to join our Farm Wholesale team as the Wholesale Annual & Perennial Lead at our Redmond production farm. The Wholesale Annual & Perennial Lead will be primarily responsible for the ordering and stocking of Annuals and Perennials for the wholesale department, including special orders, providing plant availability information to our wholesale customers, and working with outside venders. The Wholesale Annual & Perennial Lead will report directly to the Wholesale Manager. This is a full time seasonal position with an anticipated end date of approximately November 1, 2010.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather accurate plant availabilities.
Communication and coordination with office and special order coordinator.
Place orders with Inventory Availability Coordinator by 11:00 am daily
Check to make sure all plants are priced and in saleable condition before stocking
Coordinate all customer special requests for plant material with the buyer, communicating with all parties in a clear and timely manner
Stock all tables as needed – replenish plants as they sell down
Stock all orders, and pull and tag all special orders for customer pickup, communicating with special order coordinator any substitutions or problems.
Communicate with Plant Care Associate any areas that need attention such as watering, deadheading, sweeping etc.
Do routine greenhouse walkthroughs on a regular daily basis to determine present and future plant availability
Track and respond appropriately to daily and weekly order and sales reports, promptly communicating any inconsistencies to Wholesale Manager.

The Everlasting Floral Designer is responsible for developing unique and exciting designs to entice our customers during all key seasons and holidays. Our designers will be required to use their artistic talents and creative eye to provide our customers with new and unique everlasting floral designs for every occasion and style of home décor. The Everlasting Floral Designer must have the ability to actively engage and educate customers on our extensive everlasting inventory, including a large variety of plant material and other decorative items in the department and throughout the store. The Everlasting Floral Designer will report directly to the Everlasting Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Create unique and innovative designs for customers, interpreting their design requests, resulting in excellent product and high customer satisfaction
Fulfill custom orders efficiently and properly: receiving, interpreting, designing, executing and following through to final sale.
Meet established production goals for custom and standard designs, including seasonal arrangements
Receive, unpack and organize back stock of product and supplies, maintaining a neat and orderly work area
Produce design work in a cost conscious, productive and efficient manner according to established design standards.
Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of the principles and elements of design
